Sandie Point is one of Portsmouth’s pleasant surprises and a must see if you are looking to buy a condo on the water.  The community is located off of Elmhurst Avenue and somewhat hidden away on the Western Branch section of the Elizabeth River.  One thing is for sure, unless you were specifically looking this neighborhood, you would never know it was there.  Sometimes when people are looking for waterfront property they’re disappointed to find out that the “water” is not much bigger than a large ditch.  That is not the case here.  There’s a wide finger of the river that runs behind these units that is definitely capable of handling a large boat.  As  a matter of fact, the water features include boat lifts, boat slips, and a pier.  Sandie Point was a pleasure see for myself and would be considered one of Portsmouth’s best kept secrets.
